Annual Pride BBQ!

Many children and youth in Canada struggle with societal barriers and face adversities in their lives like detrimental living conditions, family violence, risk factors for mental health, school issues and identity challenges.

With the guidance and support of a mentor, these risks can be reduced or even avoided, and youth are reminded they can be anything they dream of being.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Pictou County serves children and youth in your community and together we mobilize dozens of volunteers who in turn mentor 200+ children and young people.

Accessing Transgender Health Care
Accessing Transgender Health Care
We Deserve Better

We deserve health equity and access. This includes access to transition services and general practice healthcare that is representative and responsive.
Seeing the gaps and barriers in our current system, members of the transgender, gender diverse, and intersex community (the Community) decided to act; they researched, wrote, and consulted with gender affirming care (GAC) experts, policy professionals, and the Community to create what will be the most progressive GAC policy in Canada.

Everybody's Doing it: Sex and Disability

Everybody's Doing it: Sex and Disability

t's a persistent myth that good sex should be spontaneous and should involve (at least!) one party member hanging upside down with their legs wrapped around their ears. At Venus Envy we know that everyone and anyone can have hot sex, regardless of abilities, shapes, sizes, colours, gender, orientation, etc. In this workshop we will outline ways in which folks who experience pain, or altered mobility and/or sensation, can spice up their sex life using toys and position accessories.

Duration: 1.5 hours
Audience: Everyone, geared towards people with disabilities.

The All Sorts have been gathering to play ukuleles and sing together since 2015. Bound by friendship and the joy of making music, the group meets weekly to explore music from every style and decade. They continued to connect by Zoom when the pandemic prevented gathering in person, because sometimes music is the medicine that the heart and soul need. The All Sorts believe that:
1. A ukulele in your hand can make your world a happier place, and
2. It takes “all sorts” of people to create the kind of community that’s worth living in.
